Barry Carlson, a life-long resident of Drayton Valley has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta. He earned his Chartered Accountant (CA) designation with Collins Barrow in 2001 and became a partner in 2005. In 2015, Barry obtained the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation. Now as a partner of Carlson Roberts Seely, and a long time community member, Barry believes that supporting local businesses and promoting our community is extremely important to our town. He is a loyal supporter of many organizations in Drayton Valley as well as the past treasurer of the Community Scholarship Society and the current treasurer of the Drayton Valley Community Foundation.

Barry’s objective is to add unique value to his client’s business through the application of his extensive small business experience particularly in the areas of tax, accounting, business start-ups, succession and business planning. He has also worked with many non-profit organizations, family trusts, and estates to provide services beyond the basic preparation of tax returns and financial statements.

Barry’s interests outside the accounting world are varied. From travelling and reading, to amateur photography, and woodworking. Barry is an ATV enthusiast and hiker, a connoisseur of great craft beers and supporter of live entertainment. He loves experiencing new places, getting lots of fresh air, and listening to someone else’s story.
